Microsoft has finally announced all the different versions that Windows 10 will have when it gets released to the world this summer!

Microsoft Officially Announces Windows 10 Versions

Microsoft made that official announcement about the Windows 10 versions we will see when the new OS will be released this summer. Microsoft states that they have designed Windows 10 to give every user of the OS the optimum computing experience no matter what type of device they are using.

You will find a Windows 10 version available in PCs, tablets, smartphones, Xbox One, and more. The OS will also be seen powering devices such as ATMs, heart rate monitors, and watches.

Windows 10 Home

The Windows 10 Home version has the home user in mind. It will offer users of the new OS a familiar and personal feel. This version of Windows 10 will be installed on PCs, Tablets, and 2 in 1 devices. This Windows version will allow people to do many different things whether they are large or small. Microsoft says that users will find themselves getting more done and having more fun while they are getting things done on their computers.

Some of the new additions to the Home version users can look forward to are:

  • Cortana – a personal digital assistant)
  • A new web browser called Microsoft Edge
  • Continuum tablet mode for devices that have touchscreen capabilities
  • Windows Hello face recognition
  • Iris and fingerprint login

Users can also expect a wide range of Apps and programs such as Photos, Maps, Mail, Calendar, Music, and more. All of this comes right out of the box with Windows 10.

Windows 10 Mobile

This Windows 10 version was designed to power all of the many mobile devices on the market. This version of the OS will be found on small devices that depend heavily on touchscreens such as small tablets and smartphones. The mobile version will include all of the apps found in the Home version and will include a version of Office that has been enhanced for touch devices.

The mobile version will allow the user to get more done in less time. The mobile version has increased security capabilities and management capabilities designed for those who use their devices at or for work. One last upgrade for the mobile version is that some devices will allow the user to use Continuum for the phone so that people can connect their small devices to larger screens and use them like a PC.

Windows 10 Pro

This Windows 10 version will also be available for use on PCs, tablets and 2 in 1 devices. This version of the OS has been designed with the small business owner in mind. Pro builds upon the capabilities of the Home version and allows small business owners to manage effectively all of their devices and apps. These users will also find that Windows 10 Pro gives them the ability to protect their sensitive data, support remote and mobile productivity situations and take full advantage of cloud computing.

The Pro version will also allow users to make use of the new Windows Update for Business. It will reduce management costs, provide control of update deployments, offer faster security updates and provide the user with ongoing access to Microsoft innovations.

Windows 10 Enterprise

As the Pro version builds on the home version, the Enterprise version has built upon the Pro Windows 10 version. The Enterprise version has features added that are designed to meet the needs of medium sized and large sized companies and organizations.

Enterprise offers even greater security abilities to protect these users from the increasing number of modern security threats. This version supports a huge range of options for OS deployment and complete management of apps and devices.

Windows 10 Education

This Windows 10 version will be focused on the needs of educators and their students. Users of the Home and Pro versions of Windows 10 will be able to upgrade easily to the Education version.

Other Versions

Windows 10 versions also include the Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise version. The Mobile Enterprise version is aimed at organizations that use smartphones and small tablets in their daily business operations. Windows 10 will also be powering the Xbox one for the gaming community.

Other Windows 10 News

Users that are already using Windows 7, 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1 will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Home, Mobile, or Pro free and easily. The only requirement is that users upgrade to one of the Windows 10 versions within the first year of launch.
