5 Great PC Games for 2015

With hardware and gameplay innovation getting better every single year, we in the gaming community can hope that newer and better games come out every single year, especially on the PC, where the hardware and control limitations aren’t as strict as they are on the current generation of consoles. Do you know what you might be wanting to treat yourself with this year? Here are 5 fantastic games that are already available or will likely be out by the end of the year.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

Despite the high resolutions and complex mechanics of most of the big-budget titles to come out as of late, there is still no substitute for a simple top-down shooter. Filled with a lot of style and even more pixellated brutality, this game just screams everything that was “good” about the 1980s. While it is really fun and surprisingly intuitive, don’t take that to mean that the game doesn’t have a degree of difficulty to it. You’ll be using doors, windows, and other environmental hazards to full effect as you clear each level. It is a great game to spend a day with, and then perhaps see what other people have created using the level editor. It is currently fully released for your enjoyment.

Galactic Civilizations 3

One of the most exciting 4X strategy games that will be coming out later this year, this is a great choice for gamers who want a complex strategy game that will consistently challenge them with an intense AI and depth-filled system. Players will want to play a sandbox mode or a campaign mode that will be included in the game as well. If you’ve seen it in a strategy game before, it looks like the developers have improved upon it.

It is currently out in beta, if you don’t mind occasionally having to deal with a few bugs and helping out with the game, you can pick it up now and try it out. If not, you probably won’t have to wait too much longer until you can play the full version.

Grim Fandango Remastered

Grim Fandango, originally released in 1998, is one of the most ingenious and hilarious adventure games ever released. At the time the art direction was unique and popping, and there was a sense of style to it other games simply didn’t have. In addition, most players will want to check out the amusing and heartfelt story all the way to the end. Now that it is being remastered with much better graphics, there is no reason anyone even remotely interested shouldn’t check this game out when they get the opportunity. It was released earlier this year.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Having already received one million preorders, action RPG The Witcher 3 looks to possibly be one of the biggest selling games of the year. Following the beloved The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, The Witcher 3 will be set in an open world environment and will be greater than those that have come before it, plus host a myriad of activities that look fun when you aren’t slaying monsters inhabiting the game world.

Other things worth mentioning are an active ecosystem, a great level of difficulty for those looking for it, and a lot of customization options. It will be released on May 19th, although you might be able to find yourself a discount if you pre-order it before then.

Batman: Arkham Knight

The latest of the Batman: Arkham games is apparently going to be absolutely massive, with an open-world that is perhaps five times larger than the previous title in the series. Using this massive and complex setting of an evacuated Gotham City, we should expect some great rewards for exploring the environment and just taking in the sights.
This game also advertises using the Batmobile, the added importance and interaction with some of Batman’s allies, and new gameplay mechanics. We can also hope that they’ve refined the combat and platforming elements of the game even more. The current release date is set for June 23rd.

I would recommend looking at various distributors to see if you can find a deal on any of these games, as a quick check can certainly be worth it. You might also want to keep a lookout for DLC or mods that come out for each of these wonderful games. If you are downloading mods or other peripheral software for the game via torrent (in which case you may want to use a VPN or some other protection for your device), make sure that they are compatible and that you are getting something trustworthy that won’t mess up your game or entire computer. Also make sure that you are using a computer that can handle the intense graphics that are in some of these games.

Thank you for reading. I hope that you consider some of these exciting games for your entertainment this year and that you have a ton of fun this year!
